kyā batā.ūñ ai mere yaar mujhe
'ishq hai tujh se be-shumār mujhe
ātish-e-'ishq le ke baiThā huuñ
kyā jalā.egī koī naar mujhe
ḳhud ko shāhoñ kā shaah samjhūñgā
gar mile ḳhāk-e-pā-e-yār mujhe
zulm ab intihā ko pohñchā hai
kab 'atā hogī zulfiqār mujhe
'amn' jā.ūñ to phir kahāñ jā.ūñ
raas aayā hai kū-e-yār mujhe
kya bataun ai mere yar mujhe

kya jalaegi koi nar mujhe
KHud ko shahon ka shah samjhunga
gar mile KHak-e-pa-e-yar mujhe
zulm ab intiha ko pohncha hai

'amn' jaun to phir kahan jaun
ras aaya hai ku-e-yar mujhe
