vo sarāpā ġhazāl thā kyā thā
sub.h-e-raushan kisī ke hoñToñ kā
rañg kuchh kuchh jo laal thā kyā thā
bazm-e-jāñ meñ bahut thī ḳhāmoshī
jaane us kā ḳhayāl thā kyā thā
ek jaltā huā nasheman thā
vo mire hasb-e-hāl thā kyā kyā thā
sheriyat Dhal rahī thī sūrat meñ
yā vo raqs-e-jamāl thā kyā thā
'nīl' chashm-e-hazīñ meñ ye batlā
thī vo vahshat malāl thā kyā thā
