kitne majbūr the jo apnā vatan chhoḌ ga.e
ab tabassum ke liye ham ko tarasnā hogā
hādse vaqt ke māthe pe shikan chhoḌ ga.e
aane vāloñ ke liye raat qayāmat hogī
kārvāñ shaam ke dāman meñ thakan chhoḌ ga.e
mere virse meñ na daulat hai na jāgīr koī
mere ajdād zamāne meñ chalan chhoḌ ga.e
merī hassās tabī'at kā asar hai 'zarrīñ'

meri hassas tabi'at ka asar hai 'zarrin'
