phir vo kyā baat hai mansūb huuñ mai-ḳhāne se
ahl-e-mai-ḳhāna salīqe se piyeñ āb-e-hayāt
varna phir maut hai chhalkegī jo paimāne se
ek aalam se judā maslihateñ haiñ is kī
kaun har baat pe uljhe tire dīvāne se
ḳhirad āshob hai har nukta-e-irfān-e-hayāt
aur baḌhtā hai junūñ aql ke baḌh jaane se
rabta hai mujhe shishe se na paimane se

ahl-e-mai-KHana saliqe se piyen aab-e-hayat
warna phir maut hai chhalkegi jo paimane se
ek aalam se juda maslihaten hain is ki

KHirad aashob hai har nukta-e-irfan-e-hayat
aur baDhta hai junun aql ke baDh jaane se
