सब से पहले तो अर्ज़ मतला है
सब से पहले तो अर्ज़ मतला है
यूँ समझिए कि उस का जल्वा है
आईना झूट बोलने के लिए
सौ बहाने तलाश करता है
ज़िंदा रक्खेगी शायरी मुझ को
कौन कहता है इस में घाटा है
दिल-ए-शाइर भी है फिसड्डी ही
हुस्न के पीछे पीछे रहता है
सच ज़मीनी कि आसमानी हो
वो बदन ज़िंदा इस्तिआरा है
कोई अच्छा सा शेर हो जाए
फिर तो बरसों ख़मोश रहना है
अपने बारे में सोचने के लिए
दूर से चाँद का इशारा है
छू के मल्बूस-ए-यार है गुज़री
मूड बिगड़ा हुआ सबा का है
