sabz pattoñ ko jo taraste haiñ
un daraḳhtoñ pe kaash phal dekhūñ
ai ġham-e-dil agar ijāzat ho
do-ghaḌī ke liye sañbhal dekhūñ
maiñ ki saa.e ko bhī tarastā huuñ
ḳhvāb meñ nit-nayā mahal dekhūñ
zulm kā zā.iqa to ho mā'lūm
kyuuñ na ik phuul ko masal dekhūñ
shāyad apnā surāġh mil jaa.e
dasht-e-tanhā.ī se nikal dekhūñ
phir sañbhāle nahīñ sañbhaltā dil
us kī jānib jo ek pal dekhūñ
