bāġhbāñ vo chaman ke the hī nahīñ
kyoñ palaT kar idhar nahīñ dekhā
kyā bulāve vatan ke the hī nahīñ
mutma.in the darūn-e-shahr-e-panāh
ham sipāhī to ran ke the hī nahīñ
sab navishte to ham ne dekh liye
vo havāle matan ke the hī nahīñ
haa.e vo rabt-e-bāhamī kī fazā
fāsle mā-o-man ke the hī nahīñ
ab khulā ham pe vo sabhī rishte
tan ke the saare man ke the hī nahīñ
silsile fikr-o-fan ke the hi nahin
hum to is anjuman ke the hi nahin

baghban wo chaman ke the hi nahin
kyon palaT kar idhar nahin dekha
kya bulawe watan ke the hi nahin
mutmain the darun-e-shahr-e-panah
hum sipahi to ran ke the hi nahin
sab nawishte to hum ne dekh liye
wo hawale matan ke the hi nahin
hae wo rabt-e-bahami ki faza
fasle ma-o-man ke the hi nahin
ab khula hum pe wo sabhi rishte
tan ke the sare man ke the hi nahin
