sunne wale fasana tera hai
sunñe vaale fasāna terā hai
sirf tarz-e-bayāñ hī merā hai
yaas kī tīrgī ne gherā hai
har taraf haul-nāk añdherā hai
is meñ koī mirā sharīk nahīñ
merā dukh aah sirf merā hai
chāndnī chāndnī nahīñ 'aḳhtar'
raat kī god meñ saverā hai
