sū-e-maqtal koī dam saath chale
jis ko rakhnā ho bharam saath chale
isī hasrat meñ kaTī rāh-e-hayāt
koī do-chār qadam saath chale
ḳhār-zāroñ meñ jahāñ koī na thā
ban ke ham-dam tire ġham saath chale
ham se rindoñ kā Thikānā kyā hai
tum kahāñ shaiḳh-e-haram saath chale
vādī-e-shab kī kaThin rāhoñ meñ
log katrā ga.e kam saath chale
