maiñ to kuchh bhī nahīñ kartī huuñ mohabbat ke liye
'ishq vaale to luTā dete haiñ sultānī tak
I do virtually nothing for my love
Lovers have been known to forego crowns
kaise sahrā meñ bhaTaktā hai mirā tishna-lab
kaisī bastī hai jahāñ miltā nahīñ paanī tak
What is the desert where my parched lips wander
What is this place where no water is to be found
nāḳhudā dekh chukā kaalī ghaTā ke tevar
bādbāñ khol diye us ne bhī tuġhyānī tak
The oarsman has seen the look of the black clouds
He has unfurled the sails till the coming of the storm
pur-ḳhatar raah merī hone lagī hai āsāñ
ḳhauf kis kā hai bhalā terī nigahbānī tak
My tortuous paths are becoming simple
What fears can there be in your care
