yuñhī dil ne chāhā thā ronā-rulānā
tirī yaad to ban ga.ī ik bahāna
hameñ bhī nahīñ ilm ham jis pe ro.e
vo biitī ruteñ haiñ ki aatā zamāna
ġham-e-dil hai aur ġham-e-zindagī bhī
na is kā Thikāna na us kā Thikāna
koī kis pe taḌpe koī kis pe ro.e
idhar dil jalā hai udhar āshiyāna
yunhi dil ne chaha tha rona-rulana
teri yaad to ban gai ek bahana
hamein bhi nahin ilm hum jis pe roe
wo biti ruten hain ki aata zamana
gham-e-dil hai aur gham-e-zindagi bhi
na is ka Thikana na us ka Thikana
koi kis pe taDpe koi kis pe roe
idhar dil jala hai udhar aashiyana
