mehrbāñ raat ne
apnī āġhosh meñ
kitne tarse hue be-gunāhoñ ko bhīñchā
dilāsā diyā
aur unheñ is tarah ke gunāhoñ kī tarġhīb dī
jis tarah ke gunāhoñ se mīlād-e-ādam huā thā
mehrban raat ne
apni aaghosh mein
kitne tarse hue be-gunahon ko bhincha
dilasa diya
aur unhen is tarah ke gunahon ki targhib di
jis tarah ke gunahon se milad-e-adam hua tha
