کیا اچھا ہوتا
خوب ہوتا اگر ہوا کرتے
خط کے کاغذ یہ پیڑ کے پتے
حال لکھ لکھ کے بھیجتے ان پر
لکھنؤ کانپور کلکتے
خوب ہوتا اگر ہوا کرتی
ریڈیو ہر درخت کی ڈالی
خبریں ہر وقت ہم سنا کرتے
بیٹھتے ایک پل نہ ہم خالی
خوب ہوتا سنا دیا کرتی
پیڑ کی جڑ کبھی کبھی گانا
کتنا آسان ہم کو ہو جاتا
اپنے غمگیں دل کا بہلانا
