ik pyārā ma.asūm sā bachcha
man kā sachchā aql kā kachchā
vo farmāñ-bardār bahut thā
nek aur ḳhush-guftār bahut thā
āñkhoñ meñ ik ḳhvāb sajā.e
us ne kuchh paise the bachā.e
apnī dhun meñ kho.e-kho.e
saare paise khet meñ bo.e
mājrā jab ye baap ne dekhā
apne beTe se ye pūchhā
khet meñ kyoñ paisoñ ko chhupāyā
beTe ne phir sabab batāyā
daadā aksar ye kahte the
jo bo.oge vo kāTo.ge
