to aadmī ko aadmī se karne vaale aadmī ko ḳhatm kar do
us se vo sab kuchh chhīn lo
jo tumhāre paas bahut pahle bhī nahīñ thā
aur ba.ad meñ bhī nahīñ hai
jab aag aur barf kī tāsīr ek hī hai
to donoñ kī alag alag shakl
tumheñ kyā de saktī hai
yā tum is se kyā le sakte ho
sivā.e is ke ki tum aag ko ḳhatm kar do
aur barf ko bhī ḳhatm kar do
magar jo aag aur barf tumhārī ruuh meñ kahīñ rakhī huī thī
yā to tum ne kabhī lams nahīñ kiyā
yā jo aadmī ruuh meñ rakhā huā thā
use to tum ne kabhī nahīñ chhuā
phir mālūm nahīñ us kā kaun sā jism
tumhāre haath lagā
ki tum ne us ke TukḌe TukḌe kar ke
use rishtoñ meñ taqsīm kar diyā
maañ baap beTā beTī bhaa.ī bahan
aur un par hukūmat karne vaale
badtarīn mahkūm bhī tum hī nikle
ya.anī kisī maañ baap ne
apne beTe aur beTī kī aag ko janm de ke
kabhī is par ghaḌī-bhar sar rakh ke sonā chāhā
to use sone nahīñ diyā gayā
phir jab bhaa.ī bahan alag alag
apnī aag aur barf kī tijārat ko nikle
to is meñ aadmī hī shāmil nahīñ thā
yā shāyad aadmī kā hī naam ḳhasāra rakhā gayā
phir bhī jab tumhārā bisāt bhar honā hī
tumhārā muqaddar Thahrā
to yaad karo ki vo tum hī the yā tum nahīñ the
yā jise ḳhudā ke āḳhirī javāb meñ
āvāz dī ga.ī pukārā gayā
is se baḌh ke bhī koī dukh kyā ho saktā hai ki
bichhḌī huī zindagī ke bichhḌe hue peḌ yaad na raheñ
phir bhī zarā muḌ ke dekho to sahī
ki kahīñ sūraj savā-neze pe to nahīñ aa chukā
kā.enāt kahāñ hai
zamīn to kā.enāt se ḳhālī hai
binā kā.enāt ke bhī koī zamīn zamīn ho saktī hai
binā sūraj ke bhī koī dhuup dhuup ho saktī hai
binā chāñd ke bhī koī chāñdnī chāñdnī ho saktī hai
ya.anī koī din din nahīñ
ya.anī koī raat raat nahīñ
ya.anī koī āb-o-havā āb-o-havā nahīñ
ya.anī koī mausam mausam nahīñ
ya.anī zamīn par zamīn hī nahīñ aur bahut kuchh hai
agar darvāza ko kholne aur band karne vaalā hī na ho to
koī khulā darvāza band darvāza se bhī ziyāda band hotā hai
koī shahr chāroñ taraf se khulā ho aur band bhī ho
to samajh lo ki is meñ rahne vaale rahte hue bhī nahīñ rahte
is meñ koī maḳhlūq rahtī hai
zamīn ke kisī mulk meñ bhī tārīḳh kī vīrānī ke sivā
koī ābād nahīñ
jab aadmī ke muñh aañkh naak aur kaan ke hote hue bhī
aadmī kī shakl nahīñ bantī
to koī āvāz āvāz hote hue bhī āvāz kaise ho saktī hai
to bolte hue bhī kaise bol saktā hai
to koī dekhte hue bhī kaise dekh saktā hai
to koī sūñghte hue bhī kaise sūñgh saktā hai
to koī sunte hue bhī kaise sun saktā hai
suno ummīd to maut ke haath meñ ek kaam hai
jise vo tumhārī gardan meñ shikanja kar ke aage hī aage chaltī chalī jaatī hai
aur tum ke us pīchhe kashāñ kashāñ khiñche chale jaate ho
magar vo duniyā to ab kahīñ nahīñ rahī
vo to tumhārī zamīn meñ yā tum meñ kahīñ gum ho ga.ī

magar jo aag aur barf tumhaari ruh mein kahin rakhi hui thi
ya to tum ne kabhi lams nahin kiya
ya jo aadmi ruh mein rakha hua tha
use to tum ne kabhi nahin chhua
phir malum nahin us ka kaun sa jism
tumhaare hath laga
ki tum ne us ke TukDe TukDe kar ke
use rishton mein taqsim kar diya
man bap beTa beTi bhai bahan
aur un par hukumat karne wale
badtarin mahkum bhi tum hi nikle
yani kisi man bap ne
apne beTe aur beTi ki aag ko janm de ke
kabhi is par ghaDi-bhar sar rakh ke sona chaha
to use sone nahin diya gaya
phir jab bhai bahan alag alag
apni aag aur barf ki tijarat ko nikle
to is mein aadmi hi shamil nahin tha
ya shayad aadmi ka hi nam KHasara rakha gaya
phir bhi jab tumhaara bisat bhar hona hi
tumhaara muqaddar Thahra
to yaad karo ki wo tum hi the ya tum nahin the
ya jise KHuda ke aaKHiri jawab mein
aawaz di gai pukara gaya
is se baDh ke bhi koi dukh kya ho sakta hai ki
bichhDi hui zindagi ke bichhDe hue peD yaad na rahen
phir bhi zara muD ke dekho to sahi
ki kahin suraj sawa-neze pe to nahin aa chuka
kaenat kahan hai
zamin to kaenat se KHali hai
bina kaenat ke bhi koi zamin zamin ho sakti hai
bina suraj ke bhi koi dhup dhup ho sakti hai
bina chand ke bhi koi chandni chandni ho sakti hai
yani koi din din nahin
yani koi raat raat nahin
yani koi aab-o-hawa aab-o-hawa nahin
yani koi mausam mausam nahin
yani zamin par zamin hi nahin aur bahut kuchh hai

to koi aawaz aawaz hote hue bhi aawaz kaise ho sakti hai
to bolte hue bhi kaise bol sakta hai
to koi dekhte hue bhi kaise dekh sakta hai
to koi sunghte hue bhi kaise sungh sakta hai
to koi sunte hue bhi kaise sun sakta hai
suno ummid to maut ke hath mein ek kaam hai
jise wo tumhaari gardan mein shikanja kar ke aage hi aage chalti chali jati hai
aur tum ke us pichhe kashan kashan khinche chale jate ho
magar wo duniya to ab kahin nahin rahi
wo to tumhaari zamin mein ya tum mein kahin gum ho gai
