maañ ne bachche ko ye samjhāyā bahut der talak
ai na.e saal tire jashn-e-tarab kā matlab
sāl-e-nau
ya.anī ki ḳhushiyoñ kā hai ik sail-e-ravāñ
ab na iflās ke aañsū hoñge
aur hoñge na kisī shahr meñ
dahshat ke nishāñ
ruḳh-e-ma.asūm pe hairat kī lakīreñ ubhrīñ
aur phir Duub ga.iiñ
maañ ne shāyad abhī aḳhbār nahīñ dekhā hai

yani ki KHushiyon ka hai ek sail-e-rawan
ab na iflas ke aansu honge
aur honge na kisi shahr mein
dahshat ke nishan
ruKH-e-masum pe hairat ki lakiren ubhrin
aur phir Dub gain
man ne shayad abhi aKHbar nahin dekha hai
