Among the newcomers to Urdu poetry in India in the last few years, there are only a few who have had the innate ability to compose poetry. One of them is Amir Imam. Amir Imam hails from Sanbhal in Uttar Pradesh. He was born on June 30, 1984. With an MA in English, he is currently in the teaching profession.

His two collections of poetry "Naqsh-e-Pa Hawaa Ke" and "Subh-Ba-KHair Zindagi" have come to the fore which have been well received in the literary circles. His first collection of poetry "Naqsh Paa Hawaan Ke" has been awarded Sahitya Akademi Yuva Praskar.
