hāsil-e-zīst hai kyā ziist kā 'unvāñ kyā hai
chand anfās kī aamad ke sivā kuchh bhī nahīñ
sīna-e-dahr pe ik bojh hai insāñ kyā hai
zulmat-e-sham hai kya subh-e-daraKHshan kiya hai
hasil-e-zist hai kya zist ka 'unwan kya hai
chand anfas ki aamad ke siwa kuchh bhi nahin
sina-e-dahr pe ek bojh hai insan kya hai
