False Pride is a negative
human quality. It mars a man and demeans him; makes him selfish and narcissistic and does not allow him to see beyond his own self. In poetry, however, the beloved’s pride is of a different kind and it brings pain and suffering to the lover. Here is small selection on the subject of false pride.
