H يا या yā [contrac. of yā-hi = Ap. Prk. ए=एव=S. इयत् (Vedic ईवत्)+hi = Ap. Prk. हे=S. अस्य, gen. aff.], 1˚ the base (in Braj.) of the obl. cases of the pron. yah, q.v. (and=is);—2˚ a corr. of yah (or of e):—yā-par = is-par:—yā-soṅ, or yā-se = is-se:—yā-kā, yā-ko, or yā-kau = is-kā:—yā-kauṅ, or yā-kau, or yā-ko = ise:—yā-ke = is-ke:—yā-mah, or yā-maṅh, or yā-meṅ = is-meṅ:—yā-vidhi, or yā-bidhi, adv. In this way, after this manner or fashion:—yā-hī vidhi, emphat. adv. In this very way, &c.
