پهٿ फट phaṭ
H پهٿ फट phaṭ [S. स्फट्], Crack, sound of a slap or thump, &c.:—phaṭ-phaṭ, s.f.=phaṭ; (also) the creaking sound of a shoe, &c.:—phaṭ-kār, s.m. Sound of a thump, or of the cracking of a whip, &c., or of the beating of wet clothes against a stone;—a long whip used in breaking-in horses:—phaṭ-kārnā, v.t. To crack (a whip), to whip, lash; to beat clothes on a stone (in washing); to rail at, &c. (=phiṭ-kārnā);—to snap up, make off with; to get hold of, to make, to win;—to get rid of, part with, dispose of.

A فوت faut (inf. n. of فوت 'to pass away,' &c.), s.f. Passing away, escaping, being lost, failing;—escape; loss; failure;—death:—faut bilā waṣīyat, Death without a will, intestacy:—faut honā or ho-jānā, v.n. To pass away, escape, be lost; to fail; to die; to be interred.
پهوٿ फूट phūṭ
H پهوٿ फूट phūṭ [past conj. part of phūṭnā; and=Prk. फुट्टिअ=S. स्फुटित्वा], adv. Out; forth; aloud, violently, bitterly (used in comp.):—phūṭ-phūṭ, adv. Idem:—phūṭ bahnā, v.n. To start or gush forth (tears, &c.):—phūṭ ronā, phūṭ-kar ronā, phūṭ-phūṭ ronā, v.n. To weep bitterly or aloud:—phūṭ nikalnā, phūṭ-phūṭ-ke nikalnā, v.n. To break out (an eruption).

H پهوٿ फूट phūṭ [S. स्फुटिः; Prk.फुट्टी], s.f. The musk melon, Cucumis momordica;—a cucumber run to seed and bursting elastically (as the Cucumis utilissimus, Roxb., and Momordica mixta, (Roxb.).
