Born in India but later settled in Pakistan. He did his graduation and then master from Lyallpur University,and taught at the same institution for a number of years. On an American fellowship, he did his Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Missouri-Columbia, taught at Northern Illinois University and is currently a professor of sociology at a college in eastern Texas. His poems have been published in major journals in India and Pakistan. He has published two volumes of poetry, Bujhe Rangon ki Raunaq (Splendor of Faded Colors) and the recent Tanha'i ke Tehvar (Festivals of Solitude).
