qais jangal mein akela hai mujhe jaane do

hai dil ko is tarah se mere yar ki talash

tark in dinon jo yar se guft-o-shunid hai

apne hi dam se hai charcha kufr aur islam ka

nahin milta dila hum ko nishan tak

kaun sayyaad idhar bahr-e-shikar aata hai

jab se dekha hai bana gosh-e-qamar mein tinka

kabhi idhar jo sag-e-ku-e-yar aa nikla
