Zahur Ahmad would write under the pen name, Zahuur. He was born on 22 August 1923 in Saahiwal. He worked as an electrician, as a contractor as a farmer, as a bearer in a hotel, did labor work and tried his hands at poultry as well. He was not in a position to continue his formal education, but pursued it through personal reading. He remained the editor of Satlaj weekly of Bahawalpur. He was the secretary of Anjuman-E-Taraqqi Pasand Musannefeen. He composed the lyrics of Pasosi that was a popular movie of V. Shantaraam. He wrote dramas for Radio Pakistan, Karachi and Bahawalpur at the last stage of his life. His poems have been translated into English, Russian, Dutch, Italian and Chinese. Bheegi Palkein, Reza Reza, and Zanjeer-E-Wafa are the collections of his poetry. He passed away on 7 September 1981 in Bahawalpur.
