جیسا کہ نام سے ہی ظاہر ہے یہ کتاب شمس الرحمن فاروقی کی تصنیف "کئ چاند تھے سرِ آسماں" کے ایک تجزیاتی مطالعے پر مبنی ہے۔ زیرِ نظر کتاب اس لحاظ سے خاص اہمیت رکھتی ہے کہ ڈاکٹر رشید اشرف خاں نے ایک مشکل کام کو نہایت خوبصورتی کے ساتھ انجام دیا ہے ،فاروقی صاحب کا کمال یہ ہے کہ انہوں نے دو تین صدیوں پر پھیلے ہوئے ریزہ ریزہ ہوتے ہوئے شکستہ آئینوں کی کرچیوں کو اپنی فنی صلاحیتوں سے اس طرح جوڑنے کی کوشش کی ہے جس کے باعث یہ کارنامہ فکشن ہو کر بھی تاریخی بن گیا ہے۔ اتنے بڑے تاریخی اور تہذیبی کینوس پر لکھے گئے عہد ساز فنی کارناموں کو ڈاکٹر رشید صاحب نے توجہ سے پڑھ کر اس کے مختصر عناصر کی شناخت و ربط و تعلق کی فنی و لسانی توجیہ پیش کی جو یقیناً قابلِ ستائش ہے۔

Dr. Rasheed Ashraf Khan is a young scholar of Urdu literature, a prose writer, poet, and a professor in the Department of Urdu at the University of Mumbai. He has conducted significant research on the aesthetics of modern Urdu poetry, literary criticism, and both classical and contemporary Urdu literature.

As a faculty member in the Urdu Department at Mumbai University, he has not only conducted literary surveys and critical analyses but also published several scholarly articles, such as “Kai Chand The Sar-e-Aasmaan: A Critical Study.” His literary discourse introduced fresh perspectives on classical poetry and prose, which have been widely appreciated by scholars and critics alike
