Salim Saleem is a contemporary Urdu poet hailing from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, India, where he was born in 1985. He began his educational journey at Jamiat-ul-Falaah, Bilariyaganj, and later pursued a bachelor's degree from Aligarh Muslim University. He obtained an M.A. in Urdu from Jawaharlal Nehru University and an M.Phil. in Urdu from Jamia Millia Islamia. He was awarded a Doctorate from the University of Delhi for his thesis on the works of the esteemed Urdu poet and critic Saleem Ahmed.
Salim Saleem's first poetry collection, 'Wahima Wajood ka', was published by Rekhta Foundation in 2016. The same was also published in the Nagri script titled "Sabhi Rang Tumhare Nikle".
Salim Saleem's work stands out among the new generation of Urdu poets. His writing offers a unique perspective on the self and the surrounding world. He's been associated with the Rekhta Foundation for the last 10 years.
