in 1926, the publication of baharistan began. it was edited by akhtar sheerani, with rafie ajmeri serving as the assistant editor. according to the institution, it was a monthly collection dedicated to the interests of urdu literature and knowledge. many significant writings were published in it, particularly akhtar sheerani’s novels and poetry. it was also an illustrated magazine. in its october issue, the research article tahqiq qissa padmini by maulana ehteshamuddin haqqi dehlavi (m.a. alig) was published. additionally, akhtar sheerani’s serialized novel dunya-e-shabab was featured, with its first chapter titled delhi ki ek sunehri raat (a golden night in delhi). under the section said-o-shikar (hunting and game), articles such as jahangir ka aakhri shikar (jahangir’s last hunt) by akhtar sheerani, ek afghan sho’ara ya dastan-e-mastura (an afghan poetess or the hidden tale), and ek maloon paighambar (a cursed prophet) – a drama by akhtar sheerani – were published. additionally, under the title hashr-e-jazbat (the catastrophe of emotions), a ghazal by hazrat agha hashr kashmiri was featured.
