dabdaba-e-asifi was launched in 1897. it was founded by maharaja sir kishan prasad yamin-ul-saltanat, and its editorial responsibilities were entrusted to pandit ratan nath sarshar. the magazine published high-quality articles, and its diverse and refined content reflected its intellectual depth. dr. muhammad anwaruddin wrote: "the standard of this magazine was quite high, and it covered almost every aspect of human knowledge. articles were published on logic, philosophy, music, physics, astronomy, medicine, astrology, prosody, and purely literary subjects." the selection criteria for articles in dabdaba-e-asifi were very strict. a special committee was formed for this purpose, and no favoritism was allowed. regarding this, ratan nath sarshar wrote: "no concessions would be made for anyone. even if an article by maharaja peshkar bahadur himself was not approved by the committee, it would be humbly returned with due respect."
