this was a weekly magazine published from madina manzil, mohalla mardhegan, bijnor. the founding editor was maulvi mohammad majid hassan, the owner and publisher of madina akhbar. it was launched in 1922. the magazine had a specific purpose and mission, which was highlighted in its motto: "the education of children is the building of the nation, and it was with this spirit of nation-building that the publication of 'goncha' was initiated." in addition to the prominent writers, the magazine also featured writings by school students. the first editor of goncha was mohammad waris kamil, ba. later, maulvi mujid hassan’s son-in-law and thoughtful poet hamid hassan fikr bajnori was made its sub-editor, and nasrullah khan aziz ba was appointed as the editor. shabbir baig barelvi and mahir al-qadri were also associated with its editorial team.
