About The Author

Sohail Azimabadi is a renowned Urdu novelist. Under the patronage of Maulvi Abdul Haq, he launched a movement for the promotion of Urdu in Bihar. His famous newspaper "Sathi" helped him a lot in this work. In addition, the monthly "Tahzeeb" also tried to achieve this goal.

Sohail Azimabadi wrote many stories and made a successful attempt to portray real life in them. The range of his stories’ motifs is wide. Following Prem Chand, he makes rural life his subject but does not forget the urban world. The effect of the progressive movement can also be clearly seen on him. He spoke out in support of the poor and oppressed and successfully portrayed their problems in his fiction.
