Ejaz Siddiqui, son of distinguished poet and literary mentor Seemab Akbarabadi, was born at Agra in 1913. His literary heritage helped him develop his skills as a poet. He accompanied his father to mushairas which also gave him an opportunity to listen to various voices and interact with the prominent poets of his time. He emerged gradually as a poet of substance and published his collection of ghazlas called Daroon-e-Sukhan and of nazms called Karb-e-Khud Kalaami. Aijaz Siddiqui also edited important literary journal Shayer and created a niche for it in the literary circles. Many special issues of this journal are of historical importance.
