جس عہد نے پریم چند کی تشکیل کی اسی عہد نے لووشن کی تعمیر بھی کی۔ تاہم پیش نظر کتاب میں پریم چند کے حوالے سے لوشن کی فکری و عملی اور ادبی سرگرمیوں کا جائزہ پیش کیا گیا ہے۔ جس سے ایک معدوم جنت بھی روشنی میں آ سکے۔ گورکی سے متعلق اردو اور ہندی میں کئی عمدہ کتابیں منظر عام پر آچکی ہیں اور پریم چند سے بھی اردو اور ہندی داں طبقہ اچھی طرح واقف ہے ۔ جبکہ لووشن کے فن پر قدرے کم بات کی گئی ہے۔ جبکہ پریم چند اور لوشن معاصر دو عہد ساز شخصیتوں کا نام ہے ۔انہوں نے محض فن کی قدروں کا تعین ہی نہیں کیا بلکہ فرد معاشرہ فکر خیال حقوق و اختیارات ،انسان کی فکری عملی آزادی ادب کے دائرے کار سماجی ڈھانچے قوم و ادب کو مخلصانہ اور مثبت و مستحکم کرنے کے لیے گراں قدر خدمات انجام دیں۔ ہندوستان اور چین کے معاشرتی سیاسی اور سماجی بحران مماثل تو تھے ہی ان کے مسائل بھی ایک جیسے تھے۔ اس لئے بھی ان دونوں کے فکشن کو ایک ہی زمرے رکھ کر دیکھا جاسکتا ہے۔ اور یہ کام ارشد مسعود ہاشمی بخوبی انجام دیا ہے۔

Arshad Masood Hashmi started his literary carrier as a translator and critic of Modern Chinese poetry and fiction when he started being published in the magazines like Shabkhoon. ‘Jadeed Cheenee Shaeri’, ‘Lu Hsun kay Shahkar Afsanay’, ‘Ber Bahutiyan’, and ‘Naghma-e Shaman’ are the books that contain translations of Chinese Classics with critical introductions. Recently he has translated a Chinese classic, the Tao Te Ching as ‘Fazail-e Tark-e Amal’ into Urdu. He has authored books on lexicography, act of literary creation as well. With the passage of time, this inclination resulted in his interest in Comparative Literature and Criticism which resulted in the publication of ‘Premchand aur Lu Hsun’, and ‘Cheenee Adab par Hindustani Adab kay Asarat’. His book ‘Shakeerur Rahman ki Ghalib-shanasi’ is different in nature as it discusse aesthetical and archetypal aspects of Ghalib’s poetry. He has edited works of his father Prof. Qamar Azam Hashmi too. Professor in Urdu at Jai Prakash University, Chapra (Bihar) he writes in English as well. He edits ‘Urdu Studies’.
