About The Author

Cloud nine is an English equivalent of Arsh, a word that fascinates poets when it comes to find a pen name. Syed Moinuddin too picked Arshi as his pen name. He was born in July 1921 in Bhopal that has been a famous cultural centre of India. His writings remained a striking feature of Nigar monthly. His ghazals and nazms kept featuring in a large number of Urdu journals and magazines. Mental disorders kept challenging him for years but could not stop him from reading and writing. His sufferings came to an end when he breathed his last on 25 May 19..
