Dr. Abdul Bari Qasmi received his early education at Jamia Qasmiya Madrasa Shahi, Moradabad. He then pursued his secondary to advanced studies at Darul Uloom Deoband. He completed his B.A. and Mass Communication & Journalism from Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad. Later, he obtained his M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. from the Department of Urdu, University of Delhi, where he was a Gold Medalist in M.A. Additionally, he also earned an Advanced Diploma in Mass Communication & Journalism from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.
His M.Phil. dissertation, titled "A Review of Arabic and Persian Sources of Urdu Criticism", and his Ph.D. thesis, titled "Textual Editing in Urdu: Tradition and Issues", were written under the supervision of Prof. Abu Bakr Abid, Head of the Urdu Department, University of Delhi. He has also qualified for NET and JRF.
Dr. Abdul Bari Qasmi has served as the editor of the well-known Urdu and Hindi website "Qandeel Online". He has authored three books: "Tafheem wa Tabeer", "Zikr-e-Saeed", and "Urdu Tanqeed: Naqoosh wa Nishanat", while "Adab-e-Atfal in Delhi" is under publication.
His academic, literary, critical, and research articles are regularly published in prestigious journals in India and abroad. He has presented more than two dozen research papers at national and international seminars.

Currently, he is serving as the Deputy Editor at the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), New Delhi. Under his editorial supervision, renowned journals such as "Urdu Duniya", "Bachon ki Duniya", "Khawateen Duniya", and "Fikr-o-Tahqeeq" are being published.
