آج روتے ہیں زار زار بہت
تھا جنہیں قہقہوں سے پیار بہت
وقت پہ کون کام آتا ہے
ہیں تو کہنے کو میرے یار بہت
بجھنے والا ہے زندگی کا چراغ
کر لیا تیرا انتظار بہت
موت نے جن کو ہم سے چھین لیا
یاد آتے ہیں اب وہ یار بہت
اب انہیں موت کی تمنا ہے
تھا جنہیں زندگی سے پیار بہت
اے ثمرؔ عرض مدعا کرنا
ان کو گزرا ہے ناگوار بہت
