aañkh bhūlī hai baap kī sūrat
is pe dukh haiñ sharāp kī sūrat
ġham-zada ik ġhazal paḌhī apnī
dard ubhre alaap kī sūrat
yaad maañ kī rulā ga.ī mujh ko
maiñ ne dekhī thī baap kī sūrat
taal tanhā.ī detī rahtī hai
dard uThtā hai thaap kī sūrat
koī aisā nahīñ rahā 'sohil'
jis se miltī ho aap kī sūrat
