agar āshiq koī paidā na hotā
to māshūqoñ kā ye charchā na hotā
garebāñ chaak kar rote kahāñ ham
agar ye dāman-e-sahrā na hotā
sadā rahtī tavaqqo bulbuloñ ko
agar ye ġhuncha-e-gul vā na hotā
judā.ī meñ agar āñkheñ na rotīñ
to hargiz rāz-e-dil ifshā na hotā
'fuġhāñ' kaun ab ḳharīdār-e-suḳhan thā
agar ye hazrat-e-saudā na hotā

to mashuqon ka ye charcha na hota
gareban chaak kar rote kahan hum
agar ye daman-e-sahra na hota
sada rahti tawaqqo bulbulon ko
agar ye ghuncha-e-gul wa na hota
judai mein agar aankhen na rotin
to hargiz raaz-e-dil ifsha na hota
