Monthly: Shayar, Mumbai, June, 2007
be-sūd hai guftār jo kirdār nahīñ hai
kirdār ho to hājat-e-guftār nahīñ hai
ai dil-jalo ye ashk yahāñ dekhtā hai kaun
ahl-e-jahāñ ko in se sarokār nahīñ hai
kyā jaane dard-e-dil ki ye duniyā hai sang-dil
ye dard yahāñ lā.eq-e-iz.hār nahīñ hai
kyuuñ apne dil meñ tum liye phirte ho muravvat
is kā jahāñ meñ koī ḳharīdār nahīñ hai
saarā jahāñ sameT le to phir bhī tere paas
kuchh bhī nahīñ jo ik dil-e-bedār nahīñ hai
duniyā meñ bahut lāzmī hai azm-e-musammam

mazlūm kī har aah hilātī hai 'arsh ko
ye aah to jaatī kabhī be-kār nahīñ hai
insāniyat ke dard kā hai tarjumāñ bashīr
