aa gayā huuñ kisī sahrā meñ na.ī pyaas ke saath
tab bhī masrūf-e-safar thā maiñ abhī kī mānind
ye alag baat ki chaltā thā kisī aas ke saath
DhūñDhtā huuñ maiñ koī tark-e-ta.alluq kā javāz
ab guzārā nahīñ mumkin dil-e-hassās ke saath
ho rahā hai asar-andāz mirī ḳhushiyoñ par
umr kā rishta-e-derīna jo hai yaas ke saath
jism ke shīsh-mahal kī hai yahī umr janāb
jab talak nibhtī rahe tesha-e-anfās ke saath

ye alag baat ki chalta tha kisi aas ke sath
DhunDhta hun main koi tark-e-talluq ka jawaz
ab guzara nahin mumkin dil-e-hassas ke sath
ho raha hai asar-andaz meri KHushiyon par
umr ka rishta-e-derina jo hai yas ke sath
jism ke shish-mahal ki hai yahi umr janab
