dekhe use har aankh ka ye kaam nahin hai
dekhe use har aañkh kā ye kaam nahīñ hai
kuchh khel tamāshā-e-lab-e-bām nahīñ hai
maiñ mo'tarif-e-jurm huuñ jo chāho sazā do
ilzām-e-tamannā koī ilzām nahīñ hai
vo sub.h bhī hotī hai shab-e-tār se paidā
jis ko ḳhatar-e-tīrgi-e-shām nahīñ hai
jo dil hai vo labrez-e-tamannā hai 'mubārak'
is jaam se achchhā to koī jaam nahīñ hai
dekhe use har aankh ka ye kaam nahin hai
kuchh khel tamasha-e-lab-e-baam nahin hai
main mo'tarif-e-jurm hun jo chaho saza do
ilzam-e-tamanna koi ilzam nahin hai
wo subh bhi hoti hai shab-e-tar se paida
jis ko KHatar-e-tirgi-e-sham nahin hai
jo dil hai wo labrez-e-tamanna hai 'mubarak'
is jam se achchha to koi jam nahin hai
