ham Thahre raheñge kisī tābīr ko thāme
āñkhoñ meñ koī ḳhvāb ravāñ yuuñ hī rahegā
hai dhund meñ Duubā huā is shahr kā manzar
kyā jāniye kab tak ye samāñ yuuñ hī rahegā
kuchh der rahegī abhī bāzār kī raunaq
kuchh der ye hone kā gumāñ yuuñ hī rahegā
bujh jā.egā ik roz tirī yaad kā shola
lekin mire siine meñ dhuāñ yuuñ hī rahegā
lau de to rahā hai mire ḳhvāboñ ke ufuq par
lekin ye sitāra bhī kahāñ yuuñ hī rahegā

aankhon mein koi KHwab rawan yun hi rahega
hai dhund mein Duba hua is shahr ka manzar
kya jaaniye kab tak ye saman yun hi rahega
kuchh der rahegi abhi bazar ki raunaq
kuchh der ye hone ka guman yun hi rahega
bujh jaega ek roz teri yaad ka shola
lekin mere sine mein dhuan yun hi rahega
lau de to raha hai mere KHwabon ke ufuq par
lekin ye sitara bhi kahan yun hi rahega
