ek ek sher sunaya use tafsir ke sath
ek ik sher sunāyā use tafsīr ke saath
kal bahut baat huī thī tirī tasvīr ke saath
muddatoñ baad jo aaya hai mire ḳhat kā javāb
us ne bhejā hai mujhe phuul bhī tahrīr ke saath
ek hī ishq kiyā aur kiyā aisā ishq
jaise 'ġhālib' ne kiyā mīr-taqī-'mīr' ke saath
itnā ḳhāmosh mire dil kā makāñ hai mat pūchh
guftugū kartī hai tasvīr bhī tasvīr ke saath
is qadar nek gunahgār mirā dost 'arīb'
jis ko jannat bhī mayassar huī zanjīr ke saath

us ne bheja hai mujhe phul bhi tahrir ke sath
ek hi ishq kiya aur kiya aisa ishq

itna KHamosh mere dil ka makan hai mat puchh
guftugu karti hai taswir bhi taswir ke sath
