fasīl-e-shahr se kyuuñ sab ke sab nikal aa.e
hameñ ḳhabar na huī jaane kab nikal aa.e
qadam qadam pe yahāñ qahqahe bichhe hue haiñ
ye kaise shahr meñ ham be-sabab nikal aa.e
vo raushnī meñ nahāyā huā tasavvur thā
añdherā baḌhtā gayā dast-e-shab nikal aa.e
ab is se pahle ki rusvā.ī apne ghar aatī
tumhāre shahr se ham bā-adab nikal aa.e
phir ek lamhe ko Thahrā nahīñ gayā ham se
hamāre dil ne kahā ab, to ab nikal aa.e

hamein KHabar na hui jaane kab nikal aae
qadam qadam pe yahan qahqahe bichhe hue hain
ye kaise shahr mein hum be-sabab nikal aae
wo raushni mein nahaya hua tasawwur tha
andhera baDhta gaya dast-e-shab nikal aae
ab is se pahle ki ruswai apne ghar aati
tumhaare shahr se hum ba-adab nikal aae
phir ek lamhe ko Thahra nahin gaya hum se
hamare dil ne kaha ab, to ab nikal aae
