aa.e haiñ is galī meñ to patthar hī le chaleñ
yuuñ kis tarah kaTegā kaḌī dhuup kā safar
sar par ḳhayāl-e-yār kī chādar hī le chaleñ
ranj-e-safar kī koī nishānī to paas ho
thoḌī sī ḳhāk-e-kūcha-e-dilbar hī le chaleñ
ye kah ke chheḌtī hai hameñ dil-giraftagī
ghabrā ga.e haiñ aap to bāhar hī le chaleñ
is shahr-e-be-charāġh meñ jā.egī tū kahāñ
aa ai shab-e-firāq tujhe ghar hī le chaleñ

ghabra gae hain aap to bahar hi le chalen
is shahr-e-be-charagh mein jaegi tu kahan
