jab us ne pyaar kahā thā zor yaar pe thā
maiñ rozgār-e-mohabbat meñ kam pagār pe thā
aur itnī kam ki ġhazal kā guzar udhār pe thā
huā thā qatl kal us ke kisī divāne kā
ḳhudā kā shukr ki ilzām ḳhāksār pe thā
