हर-नफ़स ताज़ा सितम होते हैं
हर-नफ़स ताज़ा सितम होते हैं
जब तिरे शहर में हम होते हैं
फूल खिलते हैं जो उस के लब पर
रश्क-ए-गुलज़ार-ए-इरम होते हैं
दिल में बस जाएँ जो अरमाँ की तरह
ऐसे अशआ'र तो कम होते हैं
हम कि हैं शाह-ए-दयार-ए-ख़ूबाँ
हदफ़-ए-तेशा-ए-ग़म होते हैं
ठेस लग जाए न ख़ुद्दारी को
लो वो माइल-ब-करम होते हैं
ग़म-ए-महबूब से बढ़ कर नहीं ग़म
यूँ तो हर तरह के ग़म होते हैं
जिन को देखे से कोई याद आए
ऐसे अहबाब भी कम होते हैं
ज़ेहन-ए-शाइर में हमेशा 'इक़बाल'
ना-तराशीदा सनम होते हैं
