in kī Thokar meñ sharārat hogī
fitne uTTheñge qayāmat hogī
kaj-adā.ī kī talāfī kyuuñ ho
mehrbānī to musībat hogī
merī fursat kā Thikānā kyā hai
aap ko bhī kabhī fursat hogī
vo na hoñge to na hogā kuchh bhī
dekhne ke liye jannat hogī
kyā ḳhabar thī dam-e-ruḳhsat ye 'azīz'
shukr ke badle shikāyat hogī
