ishq ka dard-e-be-dawa hai ye
ishq kā dard-e-be-davā hai ye
jaane terī balā ki kyā hai ye
maar Dālegī ek aalam ko
terī ai shoḳh gar adā hai ye
har dam aatā hai aur hī saj se
kyā hī allāh mīrzā hai ye
chāhiye us kā sharbat-e-dīdār
ki tap-e-ishq kī davā hai ye
us sitam-pesha mehr dushman kī
mere uupar agar jafā hai ye
is meñ us kī to kuchh nahīñ taqsīr
chāhne kī mire sazā hai ye
dil-e-'bedār' ko to luuT liyā
zulf hai yā koī balā hai ye
