itnā chup-chāp ta.alluq pe zavāl aayā thā
dil hī royā thā na chehre pe malāl aayā thā
sub.h-dam mujh ko na pahchān sakā ā.īna
maiñ shab-e-ġham kī masāfat se niDhāl aayā thā
phir Tapaktī rahī siine pe ye shabnam kaisī
yaad aa.ī na kabhī terā ḳhayāl aayā thā
kahkashāñ mere darīchoñ meñ utar aa.ī thī
mere sāġhar meñ tirā aks-e-jamāl aayā thā
ab na vo zauq-e-vafā hai na mizāj-e-ġham hai
hū-ba-hū garche koī terī misāl aayā thā

subh-dam mujh ko na pahchan saka aaina
main shab-e-gham ki masafat se niDhaal aaya tha
phir Tapakti rahi sine pe ye shabnam kaisi
yaad aai na kabhi tera KHayal aaya tha
kahkashan mere darichon mein utar aai thi
mere saghar mein tera aks-e-jamal aaya tha
ab na wo zauq-e-wafa hai na mizaj-e-gham hai
hu-ba-hu garche koi teri misal aaya tha
