kabhī apne hī dil se bāteñ kiiñ kabhī terī yaad ko samjhāyā
yūñhī vaqt gañvāyā motī sā yūñhī umr gañvā.ī sonā sī
sach kahte ho tum ham-suḳhano is ishq meñ ham ne kyā paayā
jab pahle-pahal tujhe dekhā thā dil kitne zor se dhaḌkā thā
vo lahr na phir dil meñ jaagī vo vaqt na lauT ke phir aayā
phir aaj tire darvāze par baḌī der ke ba.ad gayā thā magar
ik baat achānak yaad aa.ī maiñ bāhar hī se lauT aayā
